Most recently I’ve been trying my best to incorporate herbs in my diet. It’s not the easiest thing to prepare fresh herbs so I found this slick little utensil from Oxo to help. It minces herbs with ease so you can garnish your dishes with them. I absolutely LOVE this little utensil. It’s easy to clean, rugged, and works like a champ. Here a link where you can get one of the mincers:
A little about herbs
Herbs are undeniably healthy and an excellent way to flavor your food. They have amazing medicinal properties with uses documented as far back as the Ancient Egyptian Papyri. There’s even a push out there to get the food pyramid restructured to include herbs!
I’ve been making sure to include herbs in my daily diet. I highly recommend you do the same. It’s easy to get started. You simply buy a bundle of fresh herbs at the market, mince them as needed, and garnish your dishes with them. They go excellent with soups, salads, sandwiches, etc.
A couple herbs to get you started
Basil is popular in Italian dishes and provides a nice peppery flavor. It goes excellent with soups, salads, and pastas. Basil is an amazing natural antibiotic reducing acne and fighting infections in the body. It’s also an excellent natural anti-inflammatory which is excellent for those of you suffering from arthritis.
Parsley is typically regarded as a decorative accent on most dishes. It should be eaten as it has some highly potent health benefits. Parsley is the most vitamin C dense vegetable. It is rich in vitamin A as well which helps is reduce tumor formation and remove carcinogens from the body. Parsley has been deemed one of the best foods to combat damaging effects of cigarette smoke as a result!
This herb mincer rocks and is fun to use! I used to put off incorportating fresh herbs into my diet because they were such a pain to mince with a conventional knife. Now I can prepare them in literally a matter of seconds with this nifty little mincer. Well worth the purchase!
